Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a deduction or a credit?

It is a credit. A credit reduces your Arizona tax bill dollar for dollar up to the annual limits for Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations.

Can I claim other Arizona tax credits too?

Yes. The foster care credit can be combined with other state tax credits such as the public school, private school, and charitable organization credits. Consult your tax advisor for details.

What forms do I file?

File Arizona Form 352 for the Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organization credit. Keep your donation receipt and include QFCO code 10025.

Do donations have to be made by December 31?

No. Arizona allows you to make a qualifying donation up to the April filing deadline and still claim it for the prior tax year, subject to state rules.

Why does the donation page say “PayPal Giving Fund”?

To make sure 100% of your donation goes to foster children, Arizonans for Children accepts donations through the PayPal Giving Fund. PayPal covers all processing fees, so your entire gift reaches us.

When you donate, you’ll see a message that your contribution is being made to PayPal Giving Fund, a 501(c)(3) that distributes funds to eligible charities. They send donations to Arizonans for Children, typically within a few weeks, at no cost to you or to us. Your tax-deductible receipt is issued immediately by PayPal Giving Fund, and your donation still qualifies for the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit. To claim your credit, file Arizona Form 352 with your state return.

In short: PayPal handles the transaction securely, covers the fees, and then forwards your full donation to Arizonans for Children.

Can I mail my donation instead of donating online?
