Free Arts: Transforming children’s trauma to resilience through the arts. Free Arts employs a trauma informed approach in all our programs. This means that Free Arts staff, volunteer mentors, and teaching artists are trained to recognize the impact of trauma and approach their interactions with children and one another in a way that is empathetic, supportive, and resists re-traumatization.
Mentors and their mentees are invited to join Family Empowerment Nights. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time together and kick-off the month with excitement! This is also a time to create intentional art projects. Mentors can also connect with others within the foster care community and work with trauma informed supervisors. This event takes place on the first Monday of each month at 352 East Camelback Rd Phoenix, AZ 85012.
Mentors can also take advantage of free tickets to the Musical Instrument Museum. These dates vary and mentors can reach out to Erina Sanchez for any questions. You can also visit their website for more information.
