Each year, nearly 900 youth in Arizona age out of foster care without the family support and opportunities they need to thrive. Without guidance, many face higher risks of dropping out of school, experiencing homelessness, becoming parents before they are ready, or becoming involved in the justice system – challenges that affect not only the young people themselves but our community as a whole. While every foster care journey is different, the need for support during the transition to adulthood is the same.

Established in 2014, Keys to Success is Arizona’s only workforce development program specifically designed for youth ages 16–26 who are transitioning from foster care. The program provides individualized support to help participants build a foundation for independence through career exploration, employment readiness, education, housing, and financial literacy. With a professional team by their side, participants set personal goals, gain practical job skills, and connect with employers who understand the unique needs of young people from foster care.

More than just career guidance, Keys to Success empowers youth to pursue their passions, develop confidence, and access real opportunities that lead to long-term stability. Participants can also volunteer to build their résumés, complete training programs tailored to their interests, and form connections with companies invested in supporting their success.
